Carrie has been riding for most of her life and loves nothing more than showing clients our beautiful backyard on horseback, as well as galloping along the beautiful Muriwai Beach with our awesome team of horses and staff. Carrie also adopted a wild pony (Remi) at the wild horse clinic we attended as a team.

Saara is the owner of MBHT, she has a background in business management and also trained as a vet nurse many years ago, her knowledge of animals comes in handy looking after so many horses. 

Saara grew up in North West Auckland riding horses from a young age, she enjoys the farming lifestyle and during summer she loves to go out hunting on her horse sparky. 

Since owning MBHT Saara has attended many horsemanship clinics and had many training sessions with renowned horse trainers from all over the world to further her skills with horses. She even rescued a foal from the wild in 2020 which she is now slowly starting to train. 

Saara is a mother to little Sienna who was born in 2019 and her hubby Simon plays a big role at MBHT looking after all the things behind the scenes and keeping the trekking team in line. 

In her spare time Saara enjoys riding horses with Simon and Sienna and catching up with friends and family. 

Maggie or Mags as we call her is one of the most positive rays of sunshine you will ever meet. She owns 5 of her own horses and has been riding since she was a little girl, she enjoys riding as fact as she can with our experienced trails and she adores all the other staff here at MBHT.

Jozi has been riding and training horses for the past 10 years and is still going strong training her own horse. Jozi loves dressage and showjumping. Ever since she started working at MBHT it has been a dream come true! Galloping down the beach gives her freedom that no other thing can provide.

Raianne has been riding for over ten years and working at MBHT for many years. She couldn’t imagine anything better than galloping down the beach at low tide with her favourite trekker Gizzy and her other co-workers.

Tancy loves the MBHT herd and can often be found helping out on weekends. Panda and Scooter are her favourites, but don’t tell Brenda or Strawberry!

Clara is a Muriwai local who has ridden and been passionate about horses her whole life. She loves to work at MBHT as well as eventing and show jumping her ponies, and is beginning to start horses under saddle.

Plaxy is originally from London and started riding at the age of 4. She spent her 20’s working with horses in various countries around the world including Australia, New Zealand, Spain and all over the UK, culminating in a season as a touring groom with a travelling circus! Moving to Auckland in 2012, Plaxy discovered the magic of Muriwai, and has been a weekend trail guide with MBHT since 2014.

Erin knows our trails like the back of her hand, having grown up in Muriwai riding her childhood pony, Tasha, on these very same trails. She loves sharing our stunning beach & forest treks with customers especially from the comfort of her horse, Mac’s, saddle (at nearly 17hh the view is spectacular). At the end of the day she enjoys nothing more than a gallop up the beach followed by a quick dip in the creek to cool off!

Lucie is originally from the Czech Republic. Lucie has been dreaming of working with horses and living on a farm all her life. Finally, her dreams have come true as she now lives with the MBHT family and is surrounded by the best people. If you’re looking for Lucie you will find her playing with her wild horses (Aroha and Tamanui) somewhere down the back of the farm.
